A bright and expressive oil painting with a Kingfisher. A flurry of beautiful turquoise, blue and teal strokes, with touches of bright red and orange. I love this little cheerful piece. The deep teal blue was achieved by applying layer over layer of transparent paint. The colours on this piece seem to change depending on the light. I’ll post some photographs at different times of day and night, the effect is really amazing. The close-up shots show the colour and texture in the little bird’s plumage.
