Introducing New Multi-coloured Cow Paintings

Two big and bright New Multi-coloured Cow Paintings., I’ll be taking at least one piece to Melbourne Festival at the weekend.

I will be hosted by Pierre Hourlier Wines, at Melbourne Hall. I hope you will come and say hello if you are passing. There is a lovely cafe next door.

There will be 150 artists exhibiting at the art trail, it takes all weekend to visit the whole village. Artists are taking up temporary residence in homes and businesses throughout the Derbyshire villagevillage

Rainbow Clouds of Comfort

I have always been crazy about seeing rainbow colours all together, ever since discovering the glass prisms at school age 7. Later in a succession of new schools, I’d spend way too much time staring through my clear plastic ruler to watch the rainbows appear. Dont we find strange things to take comfort from?

I have managed to include much of the rainbow in this new cow portrait and I love it.

All that remains is to find her a name.

A big cow painting commission project arrives in its new home

I’m really pleased to see this big piece (76 x 140cm) arrived safe and sound and looks perfectly placed in this beautiful home in Zermatt, Switzerland. This bespoke oil painting commission was an absolute joy from beginning to end. A strange time as this piece was arranged just as the country went into lockdown and I began the painting amidst all the upheaval and concern of the virus pandemic. It was good to be able to throw myself into the work. A time, and a painting that I will never forget!

New work on show at White Dove Gallery

Yesterday I visited this lovely gallery on one of their open weekends, and took my new Highland Cow painting, titled ‘Highland Colours, to join my other paintings on the gallery wall. I had time to have a good look round at all the new work that I havent seen before, by some brilliant local artists.

The gallery is well worth a visit, they display a really well curated collection of beautiful wall art, sculpture and decorative pieces. Part of the space is occupied by a very welcoming cafe, complete with large and gooey cakes (vegan and gluten free options). They open Saturday and Sunday the first weekend of every month, 11-4
