At the White Dove Gallery, Shenton

Address: The Old Village Hall, Shenton CV13 6DP

All the materials needed for the day are provided, Spend the day with me painting, learning and socialising with a small group of friendly artists and take home your own unique and beautiful hare painting. Tea. coffee and cake included!

This workshop is suitable for beginners and seasoned artists alike. The focus will be on creating a painting with looseness and movement, using acrylic paints and acrylic inks. Simplify, free up your style and let the paint do (most of the) work! I will demonstrate the steps of my process throughout - I work in layers, so while I encourage you to paint spontaneously- there is plenty of time to relax in between layers. Hares are so beautiful: Shaggy yet elegant, scruffy and sleek, lollopy and engaging- they lend themselves very well to this type of painting technique.

A beautiful location in which to paint, light, warm and airy surrounded by inspirational art! This is a lovely opportunity to relax away from it all, whether you are already an experienced painter or someone who fancies trying out a new hobby.

Wear clothing that can cope with an accidental splash of paint, and get ready to have fun, relax and learn.

This workshop is suitable for 18 and over. Please be advised that the workshop is upstairs at the gallery.

Market Bosworth Festival - Painting Workshop

There were thirteen participants in my painting workshop last weekend at Bosworth Festival Big Sunday and here they are with their moonlight hare paintings. It was a new experience for us all, teaching and painting in a massive posh tent! But what a lovely day it was. I had to concentrate on making myself heard as the brass band played right outside. There were carefree dogs and children cantering about and the biggest cake anyone had ever seen ( my fault- I made it). Everyone produced a unique and beautiful painting. This was a group with abilities that ranged from professional artists to those who were picking up a paintbrush for the first time!
I was given plenty of help by the Festival volunteers and Tim and Lorraine from the White Dove Gallery. The Bosworth Festival was a great success again this year and a pleasure to be a part of.

New work on show at White Dove Gallery

Yesterday I visited this lovely gallery on one of their open weekends, and took my new Highland Cow painting, titled ‘Highland Colours, to join my other paintings on the gallery wall. I had time to have a good look round at all the new work that I havent seen before, by some brilliant local artists.

The gallery is well worth a visit, they display a really well curated collection of beautiful wall art, sculpture and decorative pieces. Part of the space is occupied by a very welcoming cafe, complete with large and gooey cakes (vegan and gluten free options). They open Saturday and Sunday the first weekend of every month, 11-4
