Big Lion Painting - Aurelius!

A Roaring Success!

I love this big guy - he dominates any space. When people see Aurelius for the first time, their first reaction is ‘Wow!’

He has been exhibited at the beautiful Atkins Gallery this month and, while I was there, I enjoyed seeing a group of visitors taking turns to have a selfie with Aurelius.

Although the overall scheme of this piece is cream, gold, black and brown, there are little touches of blue and purple here and there in his coat, which is picked up here by the grey-blue furnishings.

I was at the studio this morning tidying up after the weekend’s festivities, and I thought Id take a couple of photographs and a video of my original painting of a lion, called ‘Rufus’. I love this piece, the colours always put me in a good mood, and his serious expression makes me smile.

Here is a new Lion portrait on the easel, approaching the finish line. This piece is 76 x 76 cm oil on canvas and will be available on my website quite soon.
