A Giant Highland Cow Painting in progress
Big Cow on Canvas
Im getting close to finishing this big lady, (100 x 120cm ) My easel at the studio in Ferrers is not my big hefty easel, and I really noticed the difference yesterday. I had to hammer three wooden canvas wedges into the workings of the easel to stop it sliding down to the floor under the weight of this canvas.
New cow painting for sale
Beautiful new cow painting for sale - textured painting in glowing colours is now available.
My latest cow painting for sale is Talisker, in rich glowing shades of chocolate, gold and warm orangey-reds. I painted this big guy using thickly applied paint over thinner underlayers, creating a lot of texture and movement, The layered colours absolutely glow! This is one of the many beautiful things about oil painting, you can glaze on top on under layers and create dazzling effects. Because of the thickness of the paint, and the type of colour used, this piece is taking weeks to dry!
Update: this piece is now available from Creative Fine Art, Marlborough.
Of course, I named him Talisker because of his beautiful whisky colours!
A pair of cow paintings find a new home together this week

A Big Rainbow Highland Cow
Big Colourful Cow Painting
This piece is my biggest Highland Cow yet, I think, at 90 x 120 cm. I’ll try and get a good photo of the painting on the wall once I have made the final touches. It’s always very difficult to get a decent photo while the paint is still wet.
Update: This big colourful cow painting is now sold. Please see my newly released paintings here.

Visiting Spring Fair
I popped to the NEC for the Spring Fair at the weekend, mainly to see everyone on the Wraptious stand and wish them luck for the show. It was also an opportunity to have a look at the new collections.
With Simon and Naomi and some of my designs.
