Who is Susan Gardner?

I am an Ibstock-based professional artist, specialising in animal and bird themes. My style is Contemporary Expressionism with touches of Fauvism. I am owned by three dogs who keep me out of trouble, mostly.

How can I book a lesson?

My weekly classes are available to book online and are payable monthly. I charge £12 per session (2 hrs), so a monthly block is £48 or £60 . If you get in touch with me or fill out my contact form, I’ll send you the relevant info and get you booked in.

What if I’ve never painted or drawn before?

If you are a beginner to art, or haven't picked up a pencil since school days, you're in safe hands! My classes focus on providing you with a strong foundation so you can develop your skills naturally. We cover the key techniques from scratch, and because I’m not working to a set syllabus, we circle back regularly to practice what we learned. This way you’ll never miss anything.

Do I need my own art supplies?

I will always have some basic supplies with me, so you'll be ok even if you haven't got your own things. That said, I'll provide you with what you need and good places to find supplies, since you'll want to collect your own essentials as you go.

I’m working during the day, can you offer art evening classes?

Yes, I am starting an evening class in November, which will be in Coalville. Details are on the website, or you can get in touch with me at learn@susangardnerfineart.com
